PMJDY is India's flagship financial inclusion programme launched on 28 August 2014. It provides universal access to banking facilities including zero-balance savings accounts, RuPay debit cards with ₹2 lakh accident insurance, overdraft facility up to ₹10,000, and access to micro-insurance and pension schemes. Over 53 crore accounts have been opened.
