The National Plan of Action for Children 2016 is a comprehensive policy framework for children's welfare covering four priority areas: survival, health and nutrition; education and development; protection and participation. It coordinates interventions across ministries and sets targets for children's wellbeing outcomes by 2030.
Identify Child Welfare Scheme
NPAC is a policy framework. Individual benefits flow through constituent schemes: ICDS/Poshan Abhiyaan for nutrition, PM POSHAN for meals, Mission Vatsalya for child protection.
Enrol at Anganwadi (0–6 years)
Register child at nearest Anganwadi Centre for ICDS nutrition, immunisation, and early childhood care under Poshan Abhiyaan.
Enrol in Government School (6–14 years)
Enrol in government school for PM POSHAN mid-day meals, Samagra Shiksha free textbooks, and RTE free education entitlements.
Child Protection (Orphan/Vulnerable)
For orphaned or vulnerable children, contact District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) or childline (1098) for placement, rehabilitation, and Mission Vatsalya benefits.
