EDLI is a free life insurance benefit for EPF members, providing a lump-sum payment to nominees on the death of a member while in service. The maximum insurance benefit is ₹7 lakh. The entire premium is paid by the employer at 0.5% of basic wages. No contribution is required from the employee.
