Agriculture Dept Assam
State-enhanced crop insurance scheme for all Assam farmers providing subsidised crop coverage through PMFBY with a state-funded top-up component. The scheme aims to make crop insurance universal in Assam and reduce farmer distress from crop losses due to floods and drought.
Enroll via Bank or Agriculture Office
KCC/loanee farmers are auto-enrolled; others apply at the nearest bank or District Agriculture Office before cut-off date.
Pay Nominal Premium
Farmer pays 2% (Kharif) or 1.5% (Rabi) of sum insured; state covers the rest.
Claim Filing
In case of crop loss, report to the nearest Agriculture Officer within 72 hours of calamity.
Claim Settlement
After crop cutting experiment and yield data assessment, claim is credited to bank account.
